Acquisition Prize 2011: La Mirada de Adolfo
My painting “LA MIRADA DE ADOLFO” (2011, acrylic on canvas, 195×195 cm), has won the Distilleries ALTOSA Acquisition Prize, in 10th Virgen de las Viñas Painting Competition 2011, Tomelloso, La Mancha, Spain.
This artwork, painted between August and September 2011, is a small tribute to the playwright Adolfo Marsillach. It represents the view of the Parque del Oeste and the Temple of Debod, in Madrid, the landscape that Adolfo saw from his window in the house where he lived and where he wrote “Strange Announcement”, the play for which I am doing the set design: It will be directed by Mercedes Lezcano and produced by Metrópolis Teatro. I hope you like it.
On December 22, at the Infanta Elena Museum in Tomelloso, Ciudad Real, the exhibition of the winning plays in the 10th Virgen de las Viñas Painting Competition 2011, was inaugurated.
