ESTAMPA RONCALESA. Large Family Portrait
During these months of Covid pandemic, I have painted this large format group portrait, which I started some time ago: ESTAMPA RONCALESA. Large Family Portrait (2020, acrylic on canvas, 150×195 cm). It shows my parents and my four nieces, in Roncal, next to the chapel, a very special place for us, where in summer we spend many evenings chatting in the coolness. It has been a challenge for me, especially because of the six portraits and the size of the figures, along with the personal implications. Moreover, tomorrow, 28 November 2020, it will be a year since my father passed away.
Here is the result, which already hangs on the walls of the dining room of my mother’s house in Madrid. And, also, some details of the painting.
