LORCA (Murcia) – Paintings by Javier Aoiz Orduna
“An accumulation of pictorial elements expressed through flat areas of colour, of opaque finishes that coexist with satin ones, configure Javier Aoiz Orduna‘s pictorial production. The artist has a beautiful way of looking at and reconstructing reality, analyzing the density of the experience through chromatic areas of different intentionality that generate a universe that transcends its referential principles.
Javier Aoiz Orduna’s particular pictorial strategy reveals that the visual meaning of the world is not something given, but constructed by the individuality of each experience, a common factor that only a few manage to successfully transfer to the plastic support. In this small group we find, without a doubt, the artwork of the painter from Madrid.
In his acrylics on canvas, Javier Aoiz Orduna loosens the referential anchorage to penetrate into the constructive entrails of the different environments before which he is situated. However, his artwork never becomes an exercise in geometric capture, where he appreciates, above all, the absolute synthesis of form. His work is closer to an ordered but deeply lyrical interpretation of reality. In this sense, the great trump card of the Madrid painter’s exquisite plastic artwork is an intelligent adaptation of the light and chromatic resources to capture an exultant world of vitality.
However, nothing in his paintings is artificial or complicated. Behind the apparent simplicity that we observe in all his compositions is, therefore, the complexity of a meditated visual development of multiple considerations, the result of a profound reflection on painting and its components.
He has a degree in Law and Fine Arts from the Madrid Complutense University. Morover he has been awarded grants by the Rodríguez-Acosta Fundación (Granada, 1999) and by the Quintanar’s Palace (Segovia, 2000). Since 2001, he has shown his artwork individually in the slabs of Madrid, Murcia and Valencia, and has been awarded several distinctions, including First Prize in the XIX Guadarrama Painting Competition in 2003″.
